🔘What is a Knights Templar?
In the year 1119, nine French knights living in Jerusalem formed a religious order devoted to the protection of pilgrims travelling to the Christian holy sites in that city. Together, they took monastic vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience in the presence of the patriarch of Jerusalem, and King Baldwin II gave them a place to live near the ruins of Solomon’s Temple. This inspired the name of the new order, the Poor Fellow Soldiers of Christ and the Temple of Solomon, more commonly known as the Knights Templar.
According to the rule, any man who applied to join the Templars had to be voted into membership by a majority of brother knights in the chapter house where the application was made. A simple initiation ritual followed, in which the new member affirmed that he was neither married or vowed to another religious order, had no debts he could not pay, had no hidden illness, had not bribed any member of the order in the hope of admission, and was not a serf. He then pledged himself to the order for the rest of his life, was received into the order, and heard a lecture on his duties and responsibilities.
The Templar rule forbade any member from having any money of his own – if money was found in a brother’s possessions on his death, his body was left unburied for dogs to eat – but the order itself quickly became rich.
One of these was the last Grand Master of the Templars, Jacques de Molay, who was burned at the stake in 1314.
Jacques de Molay’s death marked the end of the history of the Templars, but it was only the beginning of the history of the Templar myth. That myth has essentially nothing to do with the historical Knights Templar, and everything to do with the history of secret societies in the western world from the 1730s to the present.

Sadly, Frazier released a video plea begging for donations. An orphanage with almost 200 orphans, Frazier claims in the video that there in no electricity, the generator quit. The water pump quit and there is no running water. There is no washing machine.
All this, despite the fact that OUR has over $50 million in liquid cash.

Tim Ballard, founder of Operation Underground Railroad, has quietly parted ways with the controversial anti-trafficking group. The news comes as Sound of Freedom, a heavily fictionalized depiction of Ballard’s work for a division of ICE and his early career as a private anti-trafficking operator, continues to draw at the box office. The movie has brought in just under $50 million, largely on the strength of a marketing campaign encouraging religious audiences to not only attend the movie but “pay it forward” by buying tickets for other people, bringing unprecedented attention to both Ballard and OUR.
In a statement, an OUR spokesperson said, “Founder, Tim Ballard has recently stepped away from Operation Underground Railroad prior to launch of the film, ‘Sound of Freedom.’” They added, “Matt Osborne continues to serve as the President and COO of the organization.” On LinkedIn, Osborne is listed as having served as the president and COO since February 2023, six months ago.
Ballard has made no mention of his departure from OUR as he began a one-man press tour focused on the film and the Jim Caviezel-played character based on him.

▫️Ballard Sold a Story, and Not the Truth?
According to Ballard’s sworn statement, he asked Buchanan a couple of questions, Buchanan invoked his Miranda rights, Ballard took his fingerprints and Buchanan was arrested.
According to court records, in 2006 border patrol agents stopped a van crossing the U.S.-Mexico border in Calexico. The man driving the van, Earl Buchanan, had a young boy with him but no I.D. for the boy, so they did a secondary inspection.
In the course of that check, they found a videotape where Buchanan was molesting the boy and notified Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Ballard, an ICE agent at the time, responded, arriving at the scene two hours after the initial stop.
Ballard’s telling over the years is more sensational. Here’s one summary of how he recounted the events:
ICE had gathered “intel” that this man was kidnapping children in Mexico and transporting them across the border for the sex trade. An operation was set up and Ballard recognized the boy, who’d allegedly been kidnapped as an infant, from a video he had seen, stopped Buchanan and he was arrested.
But wait, there’s more. The boy leapt into Ballard’s arms and held him tight. Then the boy gave Ballard a dog tag with a Bible verse on it and asked Ballard to go find his sister, who had also been kidnapped.
It became Ballard’s driving mission to find the girl and, he says, in a subsequent raid on Buchanan’s compound, 11 children ages 6 to 12 were recovered, including the sister.
Ballard’s version of the story provides the basis for the new film, “Sound of Freedom,” which has done remarkably well at the box office, surpassing the latest Indiana Jones movie in its opening weekend. But in the movie, even more liberties are taken.

🔘An Early Account (2014)
A former Department of Homeland Security special agent, Ballard said OUR had a child-trafficking sting planned for the Dominican Republic—and he wanted me to come along to document it.
Ballard explained the mission of the organization to me like this: Children in other countries were being trafficked. Local governments were overwhelmed or complicit. And the U.S. government was unwilling to jeopardize diplomatic relationships to rescue local underage victims. Ballard said he knew how to rescue these kids. He told me he’d been called to this work by God.
A camera crew filmed everything, because Ballard seemed to intend to pitch a TV series about his anti-trafficking efforts, and they needed footage. The production company was based in Utah but reportedly had Hollywood royalty interested: Gerald Molen, the Oscar-winning producer of films like Jurassic Park and Schindler’s List. This was a rescue mission, but it was also reality TV.
The police planned to wait outside until the OUR team had undercover footage of a trafficker accepting upfront cash for sex with the kids. After the cash changed hands, Ballard would give a signal, and the authorities would rush the house to make arrests. They would be armed.
Then he gave the signal. The raid started. I ran to the back door, where I was confronted by a local police officer brandishing a gun. I was told to get on the floor. The cameras were rolling for the hoped-for TV show.
Anne Gallagher, whom the U.S. State Department called “the leading global expert on the international law on human trafficking,” published an essay critical of OUR’s tactics. She argued its raids showed an “alarming lack of understanding about how sophisticated criminal trafficking networks must be approached and dismantled” and called OUR’s operations “arrogant, unethical and illegal.”
Everybody wanted to “save the kids,” but no one really knew anything about these kids. We talked mostly about fundraising. The calls never addressed real things children need to be saved from.
When Ballard called me into that house, he put me in harm’s way so that I could write a story about him.
Vice recently investigated a few of Ballard’s stories and found “a pattern of image-burnishing and mythology-building, a series of exaggerations that are, in the aggregate, quite misleading,” and has detailed “disturbingly amateurish” operations like the one I attended.
I was told two of the children had been trafficked for the first time that day. It didn’t seem to occur to anyone that OUR may have created a demand. After the sting, I asked people on the jump team where the 26 kids were taken. I was given only vague answers. Aftercare wasn’t really their focus, I was told, but they partnered with people who did it well.
I found out what really happened from a Foreign Policy report:
In 2014, after OUR’s first operation in the Dominican Republic, a local organization called the National Council for Children and Adolescents quickly discovered it didn’t have the capacity to handle the 26 girls rescued. They were released in less than a week.
Some testified, the article reported. The local organization lost track of others. All those kids in 2014 got from us was a soda and a swim—and Ballard came out ahead in the deal.
Though his reality series never panned out, Ballard is represented byWME, one of the biggest talent agencies in the world. A TV show based on a book he wrote, Slave Stealers, is currently in development. And a new action movie about him, Sound of Freedom, is forthcoming. Jim Caviezel plays Ballard, with Mira Sorvino as his wife.

🔘A Problem With the Truth
What we found aren't outright falsehoods but a pattern of image-burnishing and mythology-building, a series of exaggerations that are, in the aggregate, quite misleading.
One aspect of OUR's work involves its relationships with domestic law enforcement agencies and prosecutors, which it touts as central to its mission. But those relationships have in some cases been thin, and one law enforcement agency that received nearly $200,000 from OUR over a period of several years recently deemed the association simply not worth the bother. "While a hefty cumulative sum," said Chris Loftis of the Washington State Patrol, "candidly, in an organization of our size and a total multi-year budget well into the billions, it is not significantly budget impacting. We are quite comfortable with our decision to forgo any further donations from them and avoid further association with an organization that might provide distraction from the core mission." (The Patrol’s work, and its ties to OUR, were extensively covered in a New York Times investigation by reporter Michael Winerip this summer.)
OUR says that due to concerns about operational security and survivor privacy, it can't describe exactly how it spends the millions of dollars it receives in donations on operations abroad.
The organization said, for instance, in tax filings that it spent $2,746,505 in 2018 on assisting law enforcement in freeing sex slaves and providing aftercare for victims in North Africa and the Middle East—an extremely general description of its activities in an extremely broad service area.
Reputable and widely-known organizations providing aftercare to survivors of trafficking were unfamiliar with OUR, and experts raised serious questions about the work OUR claims it does.
One of the most curious elements of OUR's domestic operations involves a trafficking survivor with the pseudonym “Liliana,” whom Ballard has repeatedly discussed, and whose story he has frequently invoked while arguing for a wall to be built along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Liliana is a real person. VICE World News has identified the trafficking ring she was a victim of, and the federal case in which she bravely testified against her abusers. (While she testified under a pseudonym, we are not identifying the case to further protect her privacy.) But the story she and other survivors told in court—and which helped win a conviction against their traffickers—bears little but a broad resemblance to what Ballard has said publicly about it. Crucially, contrary to an assertion OUR has made in fundraising material, Liliana wasn't found or rescued by anyone: When she was just 17, and after years of rape, psychological manipulation and physical abuse, she escaped on her own.
The story Ballard tells about Liliana is different from the one that appears in court documents, though, and significantly more sensational in several key ways.
Not long ago, a 13-year-old girl from Central America – let's call her "Liliana" – was kidnapped from her village, then trafficked into the U.S. at a location where there is no wall or barrier. From there, she was taken to New York City, where she was raped by American men 30 to 40 times a day.
The private anti-trafficking organization I founded over five years ago, Operation Underground Railroad, eventually helped Liliana escape her hell.
Ballard's story diverges from Liliana's testimony here in important ways. At no point did she ever testify that she was kidnapped. (The distinction between kidnapping and what she testified to is important; one common criticism of groups like OUR is that by focusing on sensational stories like those of abducted children, they neglect the more routine realities of trafficking, which far more often involves women and girls being victimized by people to whom they're close.) He described her as slightly younger than she was, and claimed that she had been trafficked "not long ago" when it had in fact been nearly a decade. He incorrectly stated that she'd come from Central America, not Mexico. Finally, he claimed that she had been raped twice as often as the 15 to 20 times per day that Liliana and the other trafficked women testified to at trial.

Angel Studios’ “Sound of Freedom” pulled off a slick marketing coup this week. Capitalizing on the fact that none of the major studios would be debuting a movie during the July 4 week, it dropped “Sound of Freedom” when most moviegoers were at the lake or the beach. That allowed it to slide into the number one spot for 24 hours, giving it bragging rights that will likely show up in marketing materials during its entire theatrical run.
This sleight-of-hand is a fitting tribute to the subject of the film, Tim Ballard, whose talent for self-promotion has earned him headlines and head-scratching from those who fact-check his claims.
In 2021 the organization took in more than $42 million. But here’s where it gets interesting. In that same year, 2021, the organization spent only about $31 million on its work of allegedly rescuing sex trafficking victims. The year before, 2020, the numbers are even more strange. OUR took in $45 million but spent only $13.5 million. It had a whopping $33.9 million in profit.
Operation Underground Railroad has a massive total of more than $80 million in assets, most of that accumulated in the past two years alone.
OUR spent $3.5 million on fundraising in 2021, and $1.8 million in 2020.

In one case, the search for a Haitian-American boy near the Haiti/Dominican Republic border was revealed to be guided by a psychic medium from Utah who claimed that children were being held nearby. The mission to find the boy, Vice said, was unsuccessful.
…not only was there little semblance of military-type training or planning involved in the jump raids, there was “no meaningful surveillance or identification of targets; no development of assets; no validating that people they sought to rescue had in fact been trafficked, or that people they were targeting were indeed traffickers; and no meaningful follow-up with people who had been rescued on the missions in which they took part.”

🔘Operation Toussaint
OUR’s firing and arrest claims are contradict by facts and evidence. These claims were likely used to deceive and defraud donors. When OUR’s Public Affairs Officer Emily Evans and their lawyers at Kirton McConkie were questioned via phone calls and emails by Lynn Packer and Damion Moore multiple times about the claims made in Operation Toussaint among dozens of other claims, they refused to answer or provide proof.
When Haitian journalists and then Haitian government officials were questioned about the claims made in Operation Toussaint, as usual they could not find records of the arrests.
Despite no proof or record of firings and arrests in Haiti, as the end of the film, OUR’s Founder and CEO Tim Ballard and Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes awarded Haitian Attorney General Dameus and his team for “fighting human trafficking and corruption”.

Three children who were sexually abused by their late father accuses Utah based law firm Kirton McConkie and Republican state Rep. Merrill F. Nelson of conspiring with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS church), better known as the Mormon Church, in covering up the abuse and allowing it to continue for years.
This suit is one of a litany of cases- both civil and criminal, which the Mormon church and their law firm, Kirton McConkie has been complicit in either failing to notify authorities or covering up for perpetrators after the fact. Even by their own admission.
Unlike ordinary help lines and like the name implies, “LDS Family Services” was not staffed with professionally trained counselors aimed to assist victims and their families. Even more troubling, the help line was not designed for victims or persons seeking to help or guidance for someone they believed were being abused.
In reality, the help line went directly to the law office of Kirton McConkie, more specifically a group of lawyers for the church.
The intent of “the help line” was not to help victims, their families and/or perpetrators, but rather to shield the LDS church from legal liability and scandal by any means necessary. The number to LDS Family Services was distributed and intended solely for clergy of the LDS church to use, not congregants.
Like an obedient Mormon, Bishop John Herrod kept the abuse secret and for seven years Adams continued to rape his daughter, and later began to sexually abuse his infant daughter.
“They said, ‘You absolutely can do nothing,’” Herrod told investigators with the Department of Homeland Security.
In a recorded interview with investigators from the Department of Homeland Security, Herrod said he called the help line and was told that Arizona law barred him from reporting Adams’ abuse and they implied he could be personally sued.
Like John Herrod, Bishop Robert “Kim” Mauzy, legally withheld information about Paul Adams sexually abusing his children from both law enforcement and child welfare authorities also citing “clergy-penitent privilege.”
Except Kirton McConkie and the Mormon church lied to John Herrod and Kim Mauzy. In reality, Arizona’s child-sex-abuse reporting law provides blanket civil and criminal immunity to anyone reporting information about child sex abuse to civil authorities.

McCubbins also was the lead investor for Sound of Freedom, the unreleased biopic about Tim Ballard. Just weeks after Lynn Packer announced the Davis County District Attorney’s criminal investigation into Tim Ballard and Operation Underground Railroad back in August 2020, the District of New Jersey, United States Attorney’s Office announced the indictment of six people in the largest alleged fraud loss in United States history– totaling over $4.5 billion. One of those involved was Andrew McCubbins, who had pled guilty to an unrelated $100 million medical fraud scheme before the indictment and to date awaits sentencing. The walls may be closing in for Tim Ballard.

▫️An Active Participant in Operation Underground Railroad
Around the same time that Sean Reyes was taking the oath of office to become Attorney General in 2013, Tim Ballard, the founder of Operation Underground Railroad, was turning in his badge. Ballard, a member of the LDS church who lives in Utah, was an I.C.E. agent at the time. He says he grew increasingly frustrated with ineffective campaigns to address child trafficking in other countries. Ballard retired and decided to start a non-profit group that could coordinate “ops” or missions with foreign governments to rescue children from trafficking rings without the bureaucratic red tape.
In October of 2014, Attorney General Sean Reyes participated in a mission with O.U.R. to rescue victims of trafficking in Columbia. He acted as interpreter and bodyguard on the operation, stalling the traffickers for about an hour until the raid could take place.

▫️Interfering in an Official Investigation with Congressman Jason Chafitz
But then we get to the supplement of the report, dated January 26th, 2015. In it, Sergeant Barfuss informs the AG’s office that he did notice Attorney General Sean Reyes, who came along on the raid accompanied by Representative Jason Chaffetz, taking photos while inside the home and in the middle of the crime scene. They had been instructed to stay outside, but AG Reyes apparently entered the basement of the residence and began snapping pictures with his personal cell phone.
“I advised both Deputy AG Smith and Deputy AG Rozycki that while on scene at the residential warrant, I observed Attorney [General] Sean Reyes taking pictures with a cellular phone in the basement of the residence. This observation caused concern with Deputy AG Smith and Deputy [AG] Rozycki, who asked why he would take pictures at a search warrant scene.” -West Valley City Police Department Report #141050756, Supplement
Shortly after reporting this, Barfuss quickly gets inundated with calls. First it’s Commander Farnsworth from the ICAC Task Force, indicating Reyes insists his phone is broken and he was only holding it closer to his face to see through the cracked screen. Barfuss believes there is some level of incredulity regarding this account, but he agrees to let it go. At a later warrant service, in March of 2015, as Barfuss is waiting for AG Reyes to show up with more “dignitaries,” several other officers confirm they witnessed the photos being taken.
On April 1, 2015, Barfuss receives an email from a paralegal at the AG’s office declining to charge the child pornographer. Frustrated, he goes down to the office and speaks to the prosecutor on the case, Kris Knowlton. She pulls him into her office to apologize and then says two very surprising things. First, there are eight minutes missing from the recorded interview, which is one of the official reasons given for refusing to prosecute. Secondly, Knowlton was told by Leo Lucey, Reyes right-hand man and chief of investigations, that Barfuss had recanted his observations about AG Reyes taking photos on the scene after they had a lengthy discussion.
Barfuss expresses shock at this account. He’s never actually spoken to Leo Lucey before and he knows it’s a blatant lie. He informs Knowlton, Farnsworth, and others involved of the discrepancy and apparent cover-up, dots the i’s on the report and files it away.
The Salt Lake Tribune picks it up the story in late 2016, reporting that the friction caused by the case ultimately resulted in Knowlton being pushed out of the AG’s office into early retirement.

Another Twitter user found a video of Pasternak saying that he previously worked in the military. He tells the interviewer that he wasn't "governed by the same laws" the typical person is, so he was able to research "all kinds of drugs." This could add credence to the theory of Pasternak utilizing drugs as a form of "mind control" – back in the 50s and 70s, Mk-Ultra activities took place at more than 80 institutions (and the military) under the guise of "research."
